Glitter and Doom

As many of you may know, Tom Waits doesn't tour much. But when he does it is super entertaining. He's passing through a number of cities soon, including St Louis at the Fox Theater on June 26.

Not quite on par with your previous posts, unless there's something terribly deep about Tom Waits. :)

"unless there's something terribly deep about Tom Waits"... You must be joking right? Mr. Waits is arguably the singularly quintessential musical, comedic and sardonic genius of this or any other time. If in doubt just listen to his music and you will get an undeniable sense of the depth of the artist, his body of work is incomparable in scope, spanning four decades and having reinvented his art without becoming derivative while still remaining fresh, poetic, philosophical, topical and relevant is no easy task. Deep? I dare anyone to sit through his collective works and pretend to think otherwise.

While I might agree with many of the assertions above, the fact is that Waits tends not to be deep in the relevant sense: with regards to modal epistemology.
